About Rena G. Hughes

Rena Hughes is a senior counsel and an experienced trial attorney at WSHB’s offices in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. With over 35 years of experience, she specializes in defending general liability lawsuits and healthcare matters on behalf of medical providers and healthcare facilities.

Rena began her legal career in Oklahoma, graduating from the University of Oklahoma in 1988. She moved to Nevada in 1990, where she practiced general litigation. Rena served as an arbitrator for the Nevada State Bar Fee Dispute Committee and chaired an arbitration panel of 30 arbitrators for over a decade. Prior to her election to the District Court, Family Law Division, she worked as a mediator and arbitrator, hearing thousands of cases involving complex family law issues.

Now primarily focused on general liability defense matters, Rena brings a wealth of experience to her role as an advocate for our healthcare provider clients and business owners on the defense side.
