She showed up late to my hearing. The judge had to call her to remind her that today was my hearing. She was at home and we had to wait for her to arrive. My case was dismissed because I think the judge felt I didn’t have effective counsel. I wouldn’t hire this lawyer if you’re relying on her in a serious situation. I wouldn’t trust her to wash my car, let alone be involved in a legal matter.
My children were unlawfully taken by Wake County CPS after my abusive ex made a false child abuse allegation to avoid paying a nearly $5000 child support arrears balance. While this matter is sadly still ongoing, I was originally appointed Sherri Belk by the courts. Ms. belk did NOTHING for my case. She made zero effort to try and argue for my kids to come home, made zero attempts to speak reason without the county attorney- she did NOTHING in my behalf or my kids’ best interest. She failed to return calls, was paranoid I would record our conversations (without justification to think that!) and seemed more concerned about her compulsive need to wipe everything down with disinfectant than having a conversation with her client or on her client’s behalf. Furthermore, I am appalled at how she shows up late to hearings for her other clients, makes no attempt to argue for them at all.
I hired Sherri to help me get my license reinstated in NC when I was living in Arizona. She started off working my case and then she just ghosted me not returning calls or emails. Nothing was done on her part and I paid her in full so I am in the process of hiring another attorney. Sad...
