About Douglas Q. Wickham

Douglas Q. Wickham is one of the most experienced bankruptcy attorneys in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. He has been certified as a specialist in both consumer and business bankruptcy by the North Carolina State Bar since 1987. He is admitted to practice in North Carolina, as well as before all North Carolina federal courts and the U.S Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.

Doug earned a bachelor's degree in History from Yale University. He received his law degree from the Yale Law School and earned an LLM at the Harvard Law School. He was a professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law for over 15 years teaching a variety of classes including civil procedure, commercial law, debtor-creditor law and municipal law. While in academia, he published numerous articles in major law reviews and served in the University Senate.

Doug and his family moved to Raleigh in 1987 where he entered the private practice of law. He has been a member of the Sanford, Adams, McCullough & Beard; Hatch, Little, & Bunn; and Stubbs & Perdue law firms. He recently opened his own law office as a sole practitioner, continuing to personally assist clients who need bankruptcy help.

Doug is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and its Bankruptcy Section, serving on several committees and in various leadership roles over the years. He is a member of the Wake County Bar Association which recognized him as a 50-year practicing lawyer in 2018. He is recognized as a 10-year Super Lawyer. He has been a member of the American Bar Association, previously serving on its business bankruptcy and commercial financial services committees.

Earlier this year I had to look for an attorney to help with a chapter 7 bankrupcy. I looked at other websites for help. During my search for assistance I was able to find Doug Wickham. I am glad to have read all of the reviews. I can absolutely tell you that they were all true. Doug Whickham was awesome in filing my case and answered all of my questions. After a few years of not knowing what was the best to do after a sequence of bad financial choices I decided that the best was find a bankruptcy attorney and Mr. Wickham was there to walk me through and explained me all the process of chapter 7 and why was the best choice for my case. Because of foreclosure and credit debts, I ended up with having to file bankruptcy. I had no idea how to deal with the situation, fortunately, I received Mr. Wickham`s free consultation. During the the bankruptcy process he gave me valuable suggestions. His guidelines helped me save money and use money more efficiently. I also really appreciated the way he quickly he answered my phone calls replied to all matters. Definitely, I would like to say he is a very experienced and responsible lawyer.

I had the unfortunate experience of having two businesses fail financially. Doug Wickham at Wickham Law reviewed with me the various options to consider. I chose chapter 7. He was very helpful in guidance for what was needed in providing the various documents, finance records, bankruptcy filing, et...
