About Julie Parrish

Julie Parrish comes to her practice of law with the belief that the law is an equalizer amongst people, and it should be applied fairly to everyone.

As a former State Representative who served in the Oregon Legislature for four terms, Julie has seen and experienced firsthand how important it is that when you need a strong advocate in your corner, you have one who will prioritize your needs and work to solve the problem.

Julie is also a small-business owner with 25 years’ business experience spanning the areas of food service management and food product manufacturing; online community management; political and public policy consulting; and full-service media advertising, social media marketing and public relations, including crisis management and strategic business planning. She has served business clients across industries, and political clients ranging from local board directors to statewide office holders.

Julie’s law practice is focused on the areas of health care, support for business owners in their transactions and litigation matters, government accountability and administrative law, civil rights, education issues, elections (including campaign finance and ballot measure matters), and Veterans benefits.

Additionally, Julie’s experience serving on numerous non-profit boards and associations, public commissions, task forces, and workgroups, and her experience volunteering in the community have prepared her to support people and organizations with mediation, Board management and elections, and Bylaws drafting in revisions, so that community organizations remain in compliance with their duties to members and government regulation.

After passing more than 100 pieces of legislation in the Oregon Legislature, including a ballot measure to permanently protect Veterans’ funding in our state constitution, Julie decided to go to law school so she could continue serving her community.

While continuing to run her businesses full time, she enrolled at Willamette University College of Law. In addition to graduating with her JD, she earned a certificate in Health Law and a certificate in Law & Government. As a student, the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section peer-reviewed and published three of Julie’s health law articles. At graduation, Julie was awarded Willamette’s Roy Lockenour Award for Professional Responsibility.

Julie is both a seventh-generation Oregonian and the daughter of a first-generation Arab immigrant. She is a mom to three sons, and the wife of a retired Army officer. In her spare time, she’s a serial entrepreneur who regularly works to incubate new business concepts. She collects BBQ grills the way other people collect shoes, and she loves to tie culinary adventures into every travel experience.
