About Mr. Daniel Kent Olsen

Dan Olsen is committed to helping clients receive the highest level of professional representation following an arrest or accusation. He is a career trial attorney who has experience from DUIIs to Major Felonies, including Measure 11 crimes. Dan's goal in every case is to listen attentively to the client, review the evidence and discovery carefully, and help provide an outcome that satisfies the client, whether that be dismissal, a plea deal, or a trial.  Before joining the Donahue Law Firm team, Dan worked at a criminal defense firm in Bend, representing clients in all types of cases, ranging from DUII to Murder. Before that, Dan was a Deputy District Attorney for Marion County in Salem, OR for over three years, where he prosecuted misdemeanor and felony cases ranging from property, drug, and DUII crimes, to Measure 11 person crimes. He began his legal career as an associate attorney at a family law firm, working on dissolutions, custody, and child support issues. He then clerked for a Superior Court Judge in his hometown of Anchorage, Alaska. He was admitted to the Alaska Bar in 2017 and the Oregon Bar in 2019. Dan is a graduate of Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington, where he majored in Political Science and played baseball. Prior to receiving his law degree from Willamette University College of Law, Dan worked for a US Senator, at a float plane business, and an engineering firm. During law school, Dan was Editor-in-Chief for the Willamette Law Online Journal, an editor for the Willamette Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution, and was a member of Moot Court. He is a member of the Marion & Deschutes County Bar Association and a member of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyer Association. Dan loves spending time with his amazing wife and daughter, and loves hiking, golfing, hunting, fishing, and rooting for his favorite sports teams, the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners. He is also in the process of starting a podcast with topics ranging from sports to the US Supreme Court – two of his favorite subject matters.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*
