The landlord alleged some very overblown and outrageous things; we never did find out why the landlord was being so unreasonable, but at this time rental law favors landlords, so what could we do? Even I had to admit the case looked unpromising from the start, but Ms. Cole worked her butt off for us. She was sympathetic and frank about probable outcomes, but always had an idea about where to go next. Even though we ultimately lost, I plan to send her a Christmas card. Often lawyers get a bad rap, sometimes rightly so, but this lady is one of the good guys.
