    of the Clough Center for the Study of Constitutional Democracy, an institute dedicated to bringing cutting-edge scholarship on social and legal issues to the wider public. In his second summer of law school, Michael interned for the American Civil Liberties Union in Boston, where he worked on First and Fourth Amendment matters. During his final semester of law school, Michael interned in the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia's Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) in The Hague, Netherlands. He assisted the OTP in its case against General Ratko Mladic, perhaps the most notorious figure of the Bosnian War.

    After law school, Michael clerked for Chief Justice Saufley of the Supreme Judicial Court of Maine. During his clerkship, he learned how Maine's highest court rules on cases and crafts opinions. Michael's work for Chief Justice Saufley's chambers also gave him an inside-view of the judiciary's cooperation with the two other branches of Maine's government.

    Before coming to Verrill Dana, Michael attended the University of Oxford to pursue a Masters in Socio-Legal Research.

    When not working, Michael enjoys the outdoors, organizing reading groups, and playing soccer.
