James Crawford Miller (JC), a licensed attorney in both Washington and Oregon since 2012, brings a diverse legal background and a decade of experience to his role at the firm. Originating from Gulf Shores, Alabama, JC's journey led him to Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, where he excelled in both academics and college football, majoring in philosophy. Subsequently, he pursued his legal education at Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama, graduating cum laude. Early in his legal career, JC worked for one of the Southeast's largest defense firms, focusing on the defense of commercial trucking cases.
In 2017, following a transformative sabbatical across Asia, JC made the Pacific Northwest his home and commenced his Washington legal career at another defense firm, continuing to defend commercial trucking cases and represent large insurance carriers. With a broad spectrum of experience, JC has handled cases ranging from minor collisions to multi-million dollar wrongful death cases.
Joining the firm in 2023, JC has redirected his focus exclusively to personal injury cases. Drawing from almost a decade of experience as a defense lawyer, he possesses a unique insight into how insurance carriers and defense lawyers assess cases, enabling him to effectively counter their strategies. His portfolio includes cases involving traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, and soft-tissue injuries. Recognizing the profound impact of injuries on individuals' lives, JC is now wholly dedicated to assisting personal injury victims.
JC's commitment to the legal community is evident through his status as an Eagle Member of the Washington State Association for Justice, along with active involvement in local and statewide bar associations. Beyond his legal pursuits, JC finds fulfillment in traveling, backpacking in the mountains, and, uniquely, as a certified yoga teacher. This mindful approach to life extends to his interactions with clients, embodying a holistic and empathetic approach to the challenges they face.
