About Robert A. Dawkins

Robert grew up in northern Virginia, then moved with his family to North Carolina, where he attended college and law school at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from North Carolina as an undergraduate and was in the top ten percent of his law school class. After graduating from law school in 1980, Robert took a job with the firm, where he has practiced almost exclusively in the area of wills, trusts, estate planning and taxation ever since. Robert became a partner in the firm in 1986. Since 1987, he has been board certified as a specialist in Wills, Trusts and Estates by The Florida Bar. Robert has written many articles in the estate planning field for professional publications and additional articles for popular publications.

Robert lives in South Ponte Vedra Beach with his wife, Dr. Laura Weiss, and has a married daughter, Deanna, who lives in the United Kingdom.

Hired Attorney Robert A. Dawkins

While estate planning can be unsettling and less than comfortable for many, Mr. Dawkins puts his clients at ease. He handles all the legal complexities with skill and superior knowledge. My personal experience is he engages with me and his clients in plain and unassuming language. He asks insightful questions and is an excellent listener. Recognized as AV Preeminent by Martindale, he is truly the Top Lawyer choice in estate (plus healthcare-living will) and charitable planning, trusts, wills and probate. I made the clear choice of engaging Mr. Dawkins as attorney in 2006 and will continue to seek his counsel in 2021...and beyond.
