Attorney Regis M. McClelland is the founding member of The McClelland Law Group. Attorney McClelland earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1980 and a Juris Doctorate degree in 1983 from Duquesne University. While at Duquesne, he was awarded the prestigious Order of Barristers, and was named to the distinguished Duquesne University Law Review. While in law school he published in the Duquesne Law Review and was charged with the responsibility as an Associate Articles Editor of the publication.
In 1983, he was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar Association and to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit; and the U.S. District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania.
Attorney McClelland is an invited member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. He was voted by his peers as one of "The Best Lawyers in America" and was named as a "Pennsylvania Super Lawyer". He was awarded Martindale Hubbell's highest rating for legal ability and general ethical standards. Attorney McClelland is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he teaches a course in Trial Tactics. He serves on the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, the Allegheny County Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the American Bar Association, and Public Justice.
Attorney McClelland has published articles for the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He also served as a contributing editor to the book, The Liability Crisis and How to Solve It by Dr. Albert Ferguson.
Attorney McClelland is a frequent lecturer on the topics of personal injury and medical malpractice for the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He also been asked to address groups of physicians including: Allegheny General Hospital, the Symposium for Nurse Anesthetists, and the National Organization for Board certified Urologists.
Attorney McClelland has appeared frequently on both national and local television to discuss medical and legal issues including Fox News programs "On The Record With Greta Van Susteren", "On-Q", "NightTalk" and "LifeQuest" to discuss a landmark verdict that he had obtained for one of his clients.
Attorney McClelland appears weekly on Saturdays at 12:00pm noon on KDKA's "Ask the Attorney" to discuss the medical legal topics of the day. Listeners are welcome to call the program and ask the host any questions they may have concerning personal injury or the medical care they have received.
Attorney McClelland obtained the largest verdict in Allegheny County in one calendar year and was awarded $88,000,000.00 in Federal Court for the landmark use of the Victims of Terror Protection Act.
Attorney McClelland has limited his practice for the past 25 years to exclusively representing victims of personal injury. He concentrates on trial work involving claims for complex litigation including: medical malpractice, products liability, airplane and boating accidents, car accidents, slip and falls, drunk driving liability and general personal injury.
