Since 1955, Margolis Edelstein has forged the diverse talents of many individuals into one of Pennsylvania's foremost law firms. In 1982, we expanded into New Jersey. Our practice includes many areas of law, however we specialize in defense litigation. While we practice on a regular basis in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Scranton, Harrisburg, and in New Jersey, we frequently take the leading role in defending and/or monitoring complex cases for our clients throughout the United States.

Our firm is primarily a civil trial firm with special emphasis in the areas of Insurance Defense, Municipal, Environmental, Workers Compensation and Liability Claims.

Mr. Margolis was very comforting to me in my situation. He showed concern and took on my case, working very hard to bring it to a positive conclusion. I was happy with the settlement of the case. I would use him again and recommend him to others.

I was referred to Margolis Edelstein by Legal Shield. James Huggett was my first point of contact. He assigned me to Jennifer Sutton an attorney from his firm. She met me in a coffee shop, I should have known from that it was going to be a BAD experience. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and went with her as my attorney for my divorce case. I now know I would have been better off with no lawyer at all. Ms. Sutton acted like she just graduated from law school the day before we met. My ex wife's attorney made Ms. Sutton look foolish. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this law firm, the only thing they are good for is running up billable hours, unless you want to loose your case.

I was referred to James Huggett & Margolis Edelstein by LegalShield. Bad experience. Don’t be fooled. Huggett seriously pads his hours, and his work is sloppy, at best. Huggett filed my petition with numerous errors. Missed phone appointments. Did not keep me informed. If a billing dispute arises, Huggett threatens legal action against his clients. Engaging this attorney is like signing up for a lawsuit. Huggett is unprofessional and dishonest. Huggett billed $6K for initial consultation without notice. Can't do that. Unlawful. Shared other client-attorney privileged info on my invoices and billed me their hours. Totally incompetent. Provided invoices many months late. Can’t trust this guy. Was hesitant to write this review because of his threats. I hope that my experience can save a few people from this abusive attorney. Huggett made things much worse in my time of need. Good attorneys help clients through rough times, not Huggett. He only cares about himself and billing you.

Hired Attorney Vincent J. Iozzi

Vince was hired by my insurance company to handle a claim. In short, he was rude, disrespectful, impatient and unavailable. I contacted him and was told he would get back to me. He didn't 5 follow up calls and days later, I reached back out and he told me he has nothing for me. Yet, each day this issue which is a mistake on their behalf is costing me. I asked if we could schedule a time to talk when he was available. He said no. He would get back to me when he could and he didn't know when that would be. Run. Spend your money with a professional that will value you their job,customer relationships and results.

I was referred to law firm by Legal Shield . Sadly it didn’t matter . My consultation was after my $500 retainer payment was submitted rather than the other way around . I retained attorney Huggett to accompany me at a scheduled 30 min virtual meeting to protect my interest . He estimated the charge to be $100.00 to $150.00 max with no hidden fees . Advised Meeting was set according to his availability verified by his email notification. He was unable to connect to meeting the entire 30 mins. 🚩 Meeting was cancelled due to his inability to connect . He never called me direct at time of meeting . 🚩 He sent a voluntary, condescending unrelated to my legal matter email to me containing inaccurate statements that concluded with advising my case has no merit ! 🤭 Convenient after you collected my money ! 🚩 He invoiced me for $350.00 without ever communicating with opposing party whatsoever! Very unprofessional and dishonest ! Perhaps he needs the money more than me ! What a Scam !
