Our adoption proceedings were delayed because of complications on both the agency's and the attorney's parts. Our legal fees were refunded because of this, and the adoption was finalized, but it took an extensive amount of time. There was very little communication back and forth, and it took several angry phone calls on our part to get action taken on our case.
This lawyer came recommended as a Christian attorney. My situation is a destructive marriage. I paid 100 dollar consultation fee and was told I would have to pay a 5000 dollar retainer. Due to my circumstances, I could not just pay the fee. It took 6 months for me to come up with a way. 4 weeks ago, I emailed a request for the link to pay the fee. There was no response. I emailed again thinking I needed to be patient but 4 weeks is a long time. They decided to not take my case and will not refund my consultation fee since it is not paid with any promises. During my consultation, it was never stated that I could be rejected. It makes a difficult situation even worse. I would maybe feel better getting the 100 dollars back. Right now, I feel just as used and taken advantage of as my husband makes me feel. Not a pleasant experience. So, this is the reason for 1 star.
