Hired Attorney Mr. James Shields II

I hired Burr Shields to defend my integrity and recoup economic damages when I was wrongly terminated as a result of a co-worker’s malicious misrepresentations. It was David-Goliath, uphill battle—we were up against a defense team funded by the Fortune 50 company I previously worked for. After a 5-day jury trial, Burr delivered unanimous defamation and punitive damages verdicts totaling $1 million with the jury taking just 40 minutes to deliberate. Employment law in AZ is understandably difficult. However facing wrongful termination, you have to turn to an attorney to know if you have a case and how strong it is. I felt good about my case having won an appeals board against my employer already, and having the support of higher up admin in the organization. This was confirmed when I met with this law firm. However a year later, there was zero movement. The opposing party had a complete opposite view, and every pressure point I was told to wait for, was ignored. As a result I settled after a year of my life prolonging this loss, only to have the law firm take 97% of the settlement in fees. Unless you have a civil rights violation and slam dunk case with unlimited resources, don’t bother a lawsuit. Do the best you can and move on. This was very difficult to walk away with nothing.

Hired Attorney Mr. James Shields II

Postured as "conservative and frugal" with client funds, I found that to be quite the contrary. Burr Shields did not perform the services as agreed. He provided confidential records to opposing counsel, thus creating additional havoc. Highly-sensitive data; highly-sensitive case. I ended up pro per due to this malignant encounter.
