Erin E. Byrnes is an experienced litigator focusing on employment law, Indian law, and general civil matters. She advises and defends employers in a range of employment-related claims, including those under tribal laws like the NPEA. Erin has represented clients in cases involving discrimination, wrongful termination, and violations of the ADA, ADEA, FLSA, and Arizona Employee Protection Act. She also defends clients in employment-related tort cases, such as trade secret disputes and defamation, and litigates before agencies like the EEOC, ACRD, NLRB, and in tribal, state, and federal courts. In Indian law, Erin has represented tribes, tribal employees, and businesses operating in Indian Country. She has successfully defended tribal officers in catastrophic injury cases and handled matters such as election challenges, wrongful termination claims, and environmental damage issues. Erin’s experience also includes representing P.L. 93-638 entities and conducting internal investigations for tribal entities.
Erin has a proven track record in trial work, including employment cases in federal court and Navajo Nation Labor Commission trials. Additionally, she serves as general counsel for Native grant schools and universities, advising on human resources, fiscal management, and legislative matters.
