Motor Vehicle Accident - $1,100,000.00, This accident occurred when the Plaintiff was riding his motorcycle in Montgomery County, PA, and was struck by a motor vehicle which was attempting to make a left turn out of a restaurant parking lot. As a result of the impact, the motorcycle driver, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown to the ground, knocked unconscious and in a coma for almost 2 weeks. He sustained a traumatic brain injury and required inpatient hospitalization and significant rehabilitation. He also had significant work loss and future medical care expenses. The case was resolved after binding arbitration; Motor Vehicle Settlement - $1,000,000, This motor vehicle accident occurred while a 42 year old woman was crossing the street in Philadelphia and was struck in the crosswalk by a privately owned cement truck. The plaintiff was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and spent approximately one week undergoing numerous surgeries to save her life. Unfortunately, the plaintiff died and the plaintiff's husband filed a lawsuit against the cement truck company. The case was settled for $1,000,000; Motor Vehicle Settlement - $600,000, This was my most interesting and complex case, in which a woman was walking down Main Street in Souderton, PA when a tire dislodged from a Ford Explorer, went down the street, hopped the curb, and struck my client in the head while she was attempting to enter a Diner with her Mother. The client was in a coma for several days, sustained numerous fractures and had various surgeries as a result. It was determined during the discovery phase that the defendant had his tire changed approximately 3 days prior to the accident. I was successfully able to obtain a settlement against the tire repair service shop that did not properly reinstall the tire; Premises Liability - $500,000, This case arose out of a house collapse in which the elderly woman was killed when the ceiling of her house collapsed on top of her. During the discovery phase, it was determined that the land owner/landlord was aware of the defective conditions of the apartment, but did nothing to stop this tragedy from happening. A lawsuit was filed on behalf of the Estate and the $500,000 settlement occurred after the plaintiff's untimely death; Motor Vehicle Settlement - $500,000, This motor vehicle accident occurred when the plaintiff was working for a seafood delivery company and was rear ended by a commercial truck. The damage was so severe that both vehicles were a total loss. As a result, the plaintiff underwent a cervical fusion surgery and missed significant time from work. A separate Worker's Compensation claim was also resolved in relation to this accident; Premises Liability/Slip and Fall - $500,000.00, This case arose out of a slip and fall incident which occurred at a major Philadelphia hospital in which a hospital worker was involved in a work-related incident in which she slip and fell on water located in the bathroom which originated from a leaking toilet pipe. As a result, the Plaintiff sustained significant lower back injuries which required 2 surgeries and lost time from work. The Plaintiff was only 28 years old and the case was resolved against the local hospital and their maintenance company several days before the jury trial of the case; Premises Liability - $325,000.00, This case arose out of an incident which occurred at a local Philadelphia prison in which a prison guard was injured when a shower ceiling collapsed on top of him. The prison guard had attempted to rescue other prison guards and inmates and badly injured his back, neck and shoulders which required significant medical treatment. After extensive litigation, the case settled prior to jury trial. The related Workers Compensation case was also resolved; Slip and Fall/Premises Liability - $325,000.00, This slip and fall accident occurred in Chester County, PA, when a 49 year old women fell down broken and/or cracked steps with no handrail at a local collage and fractured her ankle which required 3 surgeries. The case was settled prior to trial and after a lengthy Mediation. Her related workers compensation claim also resolved.
