Is it a conflict of interest for a police officer to investigate a car accident of a close cousin's wife?

If it doesn't pass the "smell test", it probably would be against department policy for an officer to be investigating a family member. If the investigation has just begun, someone should complain to the department and ask that they assign an unrelated officer to do the investigation.

What can I do about this legally if a hospital accidently cut off my daughter’s finger?

Personal Injury lawyer at Law Office of Robert Burns
You should report it to the hospital's quality control group and hire a medical malpractice attorney. You'll need an expert medical consultant to confirm that this is medical malpractice as it seems.

How can we file a claim against the hotel for negligence?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Christopher E Kittell (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Kittell Law Firm
In Mississippi, you could file a premises liability claim against the hotel. You would need to prove that a dangerous condition existed (easy, since you have proof of the bedbugs being there) and then prove at least one of these three theories - (1) that the hotel negligently caused the bedbugs to be there, (2) that the hotel knew the bedbugs were there (i.e. actual notice) or (3) that the bed bugs were there for a sufficient length of time that the hotel should have known they were there. If you can prove one of those three theories in Mississippi, you can be compensated for the injuries suffered by your child.
