Can use a US lawyer to sue when I was in Aruba at hotel

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson
Personal Injury lawyer at Diana L. Anderson
It depends on the hotel.  If the hotel was an international chain with hotels in the USA you could sue them in the USA.  For example, if it was a Mariott or Hyatt or something like that.  If the hotel you fell in was a small local hotel, then the answer is - no - you can most likely not use an American lawyer.

When my daughter was being born the doc fractured her thigh I didn''t sue then but now she''s having problems with her thighs could I sue now

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson

If your daughter is not yet 18 you can still bring an action against the doctor. the ability to bring an action is first governed by the "Statue of Limitations". this statute sets the time limit for initiating a litigation.  For personal injury or medical malpractice for a child, the child's right to bring the law suit doesn't start to accrue until the child's 18th birthday. So that even if it is many years beyond the date of the injurym and normally the statuts of limitations would say that you are beyond thetime limit, the time has not begun to run until the child turns 18.   So if she's under 18, or you are close to her 18th birthday, the answer could be "yes".

What can happen after a pit bull bites my two kids in my back yard that aren't mine?

Personal Injury lawyer at Andrew T. Velonis, P.C.
This is a serious matter and needs to be dealt with right away. Get that dog to animal control and get it tested. Get it licenced. Report this incident to your insurance company. Co-operate fully in all investigations. Possibly, the authorities will let you keep your dog and the insurance company will pay the claims of the injured children.
