Personal Injury lawyer at Andrew T. Velonis, P.C.
You would have to show that hospital personnel put the chair there or that they knew it was there and that they had reason to believe it was a hazard. Not impossible, but probably difficult.

What can we do if my husband was hurt from work due to heavy TV lifting?

Answered by attorney Jeffrey Lapin (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Lapin Law Offices
There could be some difficulties in getting your husband's former employer to pay for his recent MRI or other workers' compensation benefits. The main difficulty is the amount of time that has passed since he left his employment in March. Another difficulty could be whether the problems with your husband back are due to a specific incident or a result of having to repeatedly lift very heavy items. For the "slipped discs" to be related to his prior work a doctor would have to state, with a reasonable degree of medical certainty, that they are due to his prior employment. I would suggest that your husband talk to a workers' compensation attorney to get more information about his rights and options.
