Yes. You can sue your roommate for the unpaid rent even if you didn't have a written agreement as to how to divide the rent among yourselves.

How much should insurance company pay me for my injuries?

Questions about how much an insurance carrier should pay or what your case is worth are very difficult questions to answer. People call me all the time and I tell them I cannot answer how much your case is worth because I don't have all the facts. If you want to settle quickly you can get a token payment. If your case is very clean on liability and there are huge medical bills and loss of earnings and you are willing to have an attorney work the case up for settlement, mediation or trial (which takes time) you would probably get more, as long as all of the damages you are claiming are provably caused by the incident.

How much compensation should I be expecting from the accident?

Jon Ward
Answered by attorney Jon Ward (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Pinto Coates Kyre & Bowers, PLLC
I am sorry to hear that you were involved in such a terrible accident. It is impossible, unfortunately, to provide a value for complex personal injury cases like your without having a great deal of information. It is necessary to carefully review your medical records and wage-loss documentation, assess your current prognosis for recovery, investigate all of the facts and circumstances related to the accident itself, consider the place where you live and where the accident took place, and check on many other important details before you can determine an accurate settlement range. My suggestion is to make appointments with a number of attorneys and speak with a few lawyers before you decide whether to hire one. Best wishes in recovering from this awful situation.
