Does insurance cover me if I was injured on my own property? How?

Personal Injury lawyer at Gregory M. Janks, P.C.
You need to read your policy as MI law indicates that the terms thereof control. It is NOT usual that HO covers injuries to the insured or relatives living in the home for in home injuries. HO is typically to cover the HO for injuries to others due to some negligence on the part of the insured. Again, read your policy. Or hire local counsel to do so, if you can not for some reason.

Should the attorney had all of the totals before settling?

Paul L. Whitfield
Answered by attorney Paul L. Whitfield (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Paul Whitfield and Associates P.A.
Your statement is confusing. You say you were hurt on the job. That would make it a worker comp case. in that case the carrier would pay all medical bills. in that case you would get a net check after approval by the Industrial commission. In that case you would likely be going to a dr selected by the carrier or the boss and not one selected by the lawyer. you obviously don't know what is going on and your lawyer doesn't seem to be helping much make your lawyer sit down and explain to you or get another lawyer who will explain it so you can understand it in the meanwhile don't sign anything.

Am I legally responsible if a contractor is injured on my property?

Answered by attorney Jami S. Oliver
Personal Injury lawyer at Oliver Law Office
Basically, you have a duty to warn others of hidden dangers on your property. Unless you have a dangerous situation that you know about and that is not open and obvious to the new contractor, then you should not be responsible if he is injured. To be safe, of course, you could always ask the new contractor to sign something that he assumes the risk of the conditions in your kitchen.
