Can I sue for bills if I fell down a step at my college where there was no sign that says the floor is wet?

Well, which was it? 2009 or 2010? Statute of limitations in New York is 3 years. If it is not too late, it is possible such a case could be made, depending on several factors and availability of evidence.

Can I sue the owner of the property?

Answered by attorney Brett Edward Rosenthal (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Graves Law Offices
File a worker's compensation claim number one, and depending on the nature of the condition, you may be able to sue the property owner. The condition must be such that you can characterize it as "dangerous" which of course is very subjective, which would include the anticipation of foot traffic in the area, depth and length of the hole, visibility of the hole. If it is "open and obvious" that is also a defense to such a claim.

Not enough information to answer your question. Maybe you weren't badly hurt. Maybe they don't believe you.
