Can an attorney keep a retainers fee for no job performed?

Paul L. Whitfield
Answered by attorney Paul L. Whitfield (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Paul Whitfield and Associates P.A.
There is no one size fits all answer. Depends on the total situation. It is interesting how almost everyody says "the lawyer hasn't done anything for me" Well, he talked with you about the matter. He had you in for an office conference and perhaps he did other things that you don't know about: research, investigation, talking with other folks, who knows? Do you know what he has or has not done? Have you talked with him? What does he say about it all? How much is involved? Big dollars or small dollars? If you think he is dishonest or is taking advantage of you, tell him what you thin k and if the matter cant be resolved as adults, take it to the bar fee committee in your county or to the state bar in Raleigh. Don't do that unless you are absolutely sure of your facts.

I am sorry for you loss, but you need an expert medical opinion to back up a medical malpractice claim.

Can I have 2 pending lawsuit settlements?

Answered by attorney Mark T. Peters (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Peters Law, PLLC
You can have 20 lawsuit settlements if that is the case. Are you trying to hide assets from somebody? That is not allowed. If you put something in your boyfriend's name, it is no longer your property.
