Would $600 be a good monetary compensation to settle for after a spilled coffee incident?

James Peirce Kelaher
Answered by attorney James Peirce Kelaher (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Kelaher Law Offices, P.A.
So long as your son is not going to have any permanent scarring, and assuming the coffee was spilled on your son's arm by an employee of the restaurant, then $600 plus the medical bills would be a good recovery.

If I slipped and fell in a city building, injuring myself, what are my legal rights?

The amount of the claim will depend on the facts which you are not likely to know now, or even any time soon: - how much will your treatment cost, in total? - how much of your wages you are going to lose because of these injuries? - will there be any permanent reduction in your earning ability? - will you require any future treatment (if yes, how much will it cost)? etc., etc. Suing the city (or a municipal corporation) requires you to serve a notice of claim within 90 days from the date of the injury. Don't miss this deadline.
