What should I do if I get caught for crashing a light post, fleeing the scene and reporting the car stolen?

David F. Stoddard
Answered by attorney David F. Stoddard (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at The David F. Stoddard Law Firm
You may want to go ahead and find a local attorney now to help with this. However, if you decide to proceed on your own, you are at a fork in the road, and have two choices. First, keep your mouth shut and hope the police never figure it out. Second, go ahead and come clean. If you hope they never figure it out and they do, they will likely go a little harder on you than if you admit it now before they have to work the investigation only to learn you lied. If you take the second option, just call the officer assigned to the case and tell him/her the truth. You may come out of it with as little a traffic ticket. If you are charged with more, before you plead guilty, at least apply for pre-trial intervention.

How do I revoke a power of attorney especially now that I am well?

Answered by attorney Dustin Douglass Deissner
Personal Injury lawyer at Deissner Law Office, P.C.
If the original POA had any language that says how it must be revoked, comply with that. If not, write, date and sign a document saying "I revoke the Power of Attorney" and describe the date and parties; notary not really necessary but not a bad idea; send a copy tot he hold of the POA and to anyone else he/she has used it with (e.g. Banks, Businesses). A verbal revocation might be sufficient for some folks but writing is more certain.

Who is liable for the damages in the condo?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney John F Brennan (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Musilli Brennan Associates, PLLC
Potentially, I would have to look at the master deed and condominium operating documents as well as the factual situation which led to the water damage before I could render a firm opinion. There should also be some insurance coverages available.
