What can I do if I was fired because of injuries?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Andrew Tyler Velonis (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Andrew T. Velonis, P.C.
Unless you are working under a contract, an employer can fire you for any reason or no reason. But, since you were fired without cause, you are entitled to unemployment insurance. If you are disabled, you may be entitled to disability pay. If the condition came about because of your work, you will be entitled to worker's compensation. Those last two items will require verification from a doctor. But: any time you are applying for any of those benefits, make sure to report that you may be or are applying for other benefits as well. Double- or triple- dipping is not allowed.

Do we have a case if the entire hotel sink fell out of wall and cut up her toe severely?

Answered by attorney Steven Harry Meyer (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Steven H. Meyer, P.A.
I'm very sorry to hear about your daughter's injury. It sounds as if you have a claim against the hotel and its insurance company. You really should consult right away with an attorney in the area where the hotel was located. Make sure to find an attorney who has experience in handling this type of claim. Most lawyers do not. Our office has handled many cases involving injuries in hotels. I am board certified in civil trial law, which indicates that I am an expert in handling civil trial cases. This field includes injury cases. I am not sure where this occurred, but if it happened in Florida, we would be happy to speak with you about the situation.

Is 3,200 enough for pain and suffering for my 16 month old daughter?

Answered by attorney Stephen Arnold Black
Personal Injury lawyer at The Law Office of Stephen A. Black
Your lawyer would be in the best position to know if that is a good settlement offer. If you do not have an attorney, I recommend that you hire somebody here in Florida on contingency fee, which means you pay nothing unless you win. Attorneys on this platform are prohibited from soliciting cases of posters, but you're welcome to research our backgrounds and reach out to one of us privately.
