Both. What you should do next is to see a dr for your illness. Do you still have the evidence? If you suffered nothing but being grossed out, then there is nothing to recover for. Slimy membrane looking particles may be unpleasant but they are not necessarily harmful.

Whenever there is an accident and someone is hurt, the police can have a blood draw. Yes, it is almost definite that they will obtain the results, especially if they plan on charging you.
