Who is liable? The homeowner that owned the property or should we try to track down the child that caused the damage?

James Peirce Kelaher
Answered by attorney James Peirce Kelaher (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Kelaher Law Offices, P.A.
Track down the child who caused the injury and make a claim against his parents' homeowner's insurance. There should be medical payments coverage on the home where the accident occurred that should cover your son's medical bills up to the MedPay limits (typically $5,000).

Is it possible to obtain lawsuit money before I become 18?

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson
Personal Injury lawyer at Diana L. Anderson
Most likely someone else is in charge of your money, either your parents or someone appointed by the Court to oversee it.  It would be up to that person, either a Guardian ad Litem, or Trustee, to distribute money to you, and they would most liekly not just turn it over to you until you are 18.  They might use the money to benefit you, pay for school, or medical expenses for example, but would not just turn it over to you.

My son was hit and killed by school bus, what kind of lawyer do I need

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson
Personal Injury lawyer at Diana L. Anderson
I'm very sorry for your loss.  You need a personal injury attorney.  You also need to file a tort Claim notice within 90 days of the accident.  This should be done immediately because you will be suing the school district and the bus company.  Please call my office if you need assistance.
