How much my case worth for broken wrist slip and fall in basement?

Answered by attorney Gregory M Janks (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Gregory M. Janks, P.C.
There is no set formula for the value of any particular case/injury. Each case is dependent on it's facts re: both liability and damages. You would have to consult with an attorney who routinely handles these cases and there would likely have to be a process of investigation of the facts of the incident, and collection of medical treatment records and billings, before any range of value could be assigned to your possible case. You should know that in Michigan the open & obvious doctrine often bars, or certainly devalues, premises liability cases. Generally insurance companies value a case by a factor/multiplier of your "specials" (medical bills, wage loss, and other economic and quantifiable damages).

How do I sue an individual for tort?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Christian Frederick Paul (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Law Office of Christian F. Paul
You don't say what the person did to you to make it possible for you to sue him, so it is not easy to answer your question. If the person committed a recognized tort against you, and you file suit within the period of limitations for that tort, all you really have to do is put the right allegations into your complaint and file it and serve it on the defendant. You might find it useful to consult an attorney experienced in the kind of tort that you believe was committed, either to handle the case for you or at least to advise you about what to do. Good luck.

First, you should request frequent periodic statements in writing from your attorney or law firm. If no response, contact the local bar association for a response.
