Am I entitled to any compensation if I fall and slip in a store because of a wet floor?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Andrew Tyler Velonis (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Andrew T. Velonis, P.C.
It depends on how and when the floor became wet: if it was wet because they were mopping it and failed to put up "wet floor" signs, then the answer is yes. But, if it was wet because someone spilled something, you would have to show that the spillage was there long enough that store employees should have noticed it and cleaned it up. If it was wet because water was tracked in due to rain, that's a maybe.

How can we claim benefits when accident occurred in Asia?

Answered by attorney William Riley Allen (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Riley Allen Law
You need to check with your own uninsured motorist/underinsured motorist coverage as that may prove to be the only remedy. The laws overseas are totally different country to country and the likelihood of recovery directly from the perpetrator is not typically great.

Am I liable for the personal injury?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Andrew Tyler Velonis (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Andrew T. Velonis, P.C.
You are not liable and it has nothing to do with the sale. Any time you are near a horse there is a possibility that you could get stepped on, kicked or bitten; any time you get on, there is a possibility that you could fall or get thrown. This is called "assumption of risk". Unless you did something to cause the accident, it's just tough beans for her.
