What can I do about my medical malpractice case that has been going on for 7 years?

Answered by attorney J. Michael End
Personal Injury lawyer at End, Hierseman & Crain LLC
Nobody familiar with medical malpractice cases will claim the system is fair. The negligent doctors win about 90% of the cases that go to trial. They hardly have to try to defend themselves. The jurors will let them off every time they can. I don't know what advice to give to you. It is almost impossible for a skilled lawyer to win a medical malpractice case. I think your odds of winning are probably not good.

How can I find my account or anything?

Start with the County Clerk's office. The case would have been brought in your name or one of your parents. You can get a copy of the court order approving the settlement. That will give you the name of the attorney. Call the attorney and ask what bank the the trust account was set up in (that might be in the court order as well). This will give you the information about the terms of the settlement and when you can have access to your funds.

Will the other person's insurance pay for my damages?

You are going to have a problem. If a car is reported stolen, then the insurance company that insured that car is not responsible for the damages.
