If assaulted by softball coach, is the league responsible?

Answered by attorney Lawrence M Kahn (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Lawrence Kahn Law Group
Perhaps. It depends on the history of the coach, the due diligence in hiring, etc. since it was the coach's father, and the coach will probably argue that he was trying to restrain you, there probably is no liability for the league. The coaches should be fired for such a display in front of children. Is this the lesson they want to teach them? On the other hand, you may have an action against the father for punching you but, in all likelihood, it will be a tough case since he will allege he was just protecting his son, a form of self defense. Your intention of breaking up the fight may be seen by them as an assault toward them.

State does not want you driving without insurance. Make sure your policy is current, then contact DMV and ask about the status of your lic en se. they will likely inform you if you need take any action to restore your license. If you don't understand take the DMV info to any traffic court lawyer and he can help you if need be.
