If I have a major medical issue without insurance and am willing to make small monthly payments, can they seize my house?

Answered by attorney David E. Frank
Personal Injury lawyer at Frank Law Group, P.C.
Depends on how much equity you have in your house. Generally, in CA, if your equity is less than $100,000, no they can't come after your home. If they agree to accept payments over time, then no they can't come after your home. If the bill is very large, and your credit is already bad, and you don't have much in the way of assets, then you might want to consider filing BK which will discharge the debt so they can never come after you.

What can I do if I was injured and want to get a settlement?

Spencer Edward Farris
Answered by attorney Spencer Edward Farris (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at The S.E. Farris Law Firm
The best thing you can do in this situation is to hire a qualified attorney. Your limited factual presentation makes it clear that you have a tort claim and perhaps a workers compensation claim.
