What are my rights when a surgery fails and the doctors say there is nothing else that can be done?

Answered by attorney Andrew Tyler Velonis (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Andrew T. Velonis, P.C.
In order to prove a medical malpractice case, a claimant must prove a failure to conform to accepted practice, resulting in an injury. A bad result is not enough, and if it is a "judgment call" by the doctor, there is no malpractice, even if the doctor made the wrong call. You will need to get copies of ALL of your medical records and have a surgeon review them; if he/she is willing to testify that your previous surgeon(s) failed to conform to accepted practice, then you have a case.

What can I do if I am being sued over a dog bite?

Answered by attorney Jeffrey Wittenbrink
Personal Injury lawyer at Wittenbrink Law Firm
Anyone can sue, not everyone may win. In order to obtain money from a dog bite claim, one must prove not only that they were bitten but that they were "damaged" by the bite. From the description of the "injuries," it doesn't seem you have much to worry about. If you do not have insurance, however, you may have to hire your own attorney, which may give you pause because of the expense. Don't be so worried about hiring an attorney that you get someone else to work for you.

How long after a car accident do I have to sue?

Answered by attorney Ernest Lee
Personal Injury lawyer at Lee Law Group DUI Criminal Attorneys
Friend, it depends on your states statute of limitations. 'Statute of Limitations' are the laws in your state that say how long you have to exercise your right to do certain things, usually to sue. In California you would normally have 2 years from the date of the incident or the date you discovered an injury from the incident.
