What do I do after I hit a unoccupied parked car and then got a notice from the police about it?

Personal Injury lawyer at Peacock & Le Beau
It's best to contact the police through a lawyer. That way information can be obtained and a possible explanation made without it coming directly from you. It is sometimes possible to avoid prosecution if you have insurance to pay for the damage One issue is whether anyone can ID you as the driver. If not it will be hard to press charges against you for the hit & run ?Our firm has been representing individuals accused of? Felony and Misdemeanor crimes for over 23 years. We represent clients in LA, Orange, Riverside, and Ventura counties. Both my partner and I are State Bar Certified Criminal Law Specialist (only approximately 300 in the entire State of California) and named "Super Lawyers" in LA Magazine. But more importantly over 70% of our new cases come from referrals from our previous clients, other lawyers, judges, police officers, and prosecutors looking for great representation for their friends and loved ones.

What can I do about a car accident that was not my fault and now I am being sued?

David F. Stoddard

You should hire a lawyer to defend your case. If you cannot afford an attorney, file an answer to the suit and do your best to defend yourself.

Do I sue the person or the company of the person who hit me?

You would sue the person who hit you. Do you have an accident report? The address etc. should be on the report. Otherwise, I would do a search for the address of the person.
