Is this normal practices of attorneys?

I suspect he wants to know how badly you are injured and what your medicals are before he files suit. lawyers don't file suit just to get a few more property damage dollars which is what you are seeking. You are not going to be paid what you owe the finance co. you will be paid the fair market value of your car, whatever that is. you cant and wont get more if you file 10 lawsuits. Why don't you cool it. if you don't like your lawyer get a new one and quit bellyaching.

In Louisiana you have one year from date you knew or reasonably should have known something went wrong in surgery to file medical malpractice claim.

It would be next to impossible to prove. They have a great deal of discretion, if it's a matter of judgment, they can just shrug their shoulders and say, "we did the best we could".
