Can an ex independent contractor sue an out of business corporation?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Andrew Tyler Velonis (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Andrew T. Velonis, P.C.
Yes. The corporation may have insurance in place which could provide coverage as of the time of the occurrence. Undoubtedly, the individual takes the position that it was the corporation which caused the damages, but that is a matter of legal proof. As to what the agreement says, that all depends on exactly what it is that is written into the agreement.

My child jumped off a swing at church and broke his wrist, needing pins put in, are we entitled to a settlement?

Paul L. Whitfield
Answered by attorney Paul L. Whitfield (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Paul Whitfield and Associates P.A.
Why would anybody owe you anything if your child broke his own wrist at play? The medical payments coverage already paid you bills. Med pay s pays regardless of fault. To get other money you would have to prove that the injury was the fault of the church. I am a bit curious: why do you think you would be entitled to anything?

Can I sue my employer for an injury at work?

Answered by attorney Steven Alan Fink (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Fink & Abraham LLP
You have a workers comp claim only, against your employer. If slicer was defective you might have a claim against the manufacturer.
