Can I sue a teacher for punching me in the nose if my nose only started to hurt but not bleed?

James Peirce Kelaher

Personal Injury lawyer at Kelaher Law Offices, P.A.
You picked the right course of action: going to someone above her in the school system and report the battery. If you only suffered the indignation of being hit in front of other students and the temporary pain of being hit, it wouldn't be worth it to you to file a lawsuit. You would have to pay the filing fee out of your own pocket, which in Florida is only $400, and there are too many hoops to jump through to make it worth your while.

What happens and what can I do if an attorney fails to release settlement?

Report him to the Florida Bar. However, first go down and have a face-to-face meeting with him and ask him for an explanation. If he's keeping some or all of your proceeds in his trust account because you have letters of protection or liens on your file, then he is not doing anything improperly, but ask him for an explanation as to why he is not releasing the proceeds of your settlement to you.

What can I do if I found a bug in my food?

Quit eating there any more. If you can prove you had a bug in your food, and if you sought medical care for getting sick as a result, then you can probably get the fast food restaurant to pay you a few hundred dollars in addition to reimbursing you for your medical bills, but unless you can prove any significant injury, you shouldn't expect more than that.
