You may have a good case. Contact a local lawyer if possible to handle it. We have had good success in this type of case. The waiver may be against public policy and unenforceable.

If I have a major medical issue without insurance and am willing to make small monthly payments, can they seize my house?

Answered by attorney David E. Frank
Personal Injury lawyer at Frank Law Group, P.C.
Depends on how much equity you have in your house. Generally, in CA, if your equity is less than $100,000, no they can't come after your home. If they agree to accept payments over time, then no they can't come after your home. If the bill is very large, and your credit is already bad, and you don't have much in the way of assets, then you might want to consider filing BK which will discharge the debt so they can never come after you.

What is the law for negligence of entrustment of a vehicle to a person with no license?

Answered by attorney Paul Bradley Schroeder (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Hirsch, Closson, McMillan & Schroeder, APLC
The owner of the vehicle is liable, but possibly only up to limits of $15,000/$30,000. Negligent entrustment is a fact specific inquiry, for which you will need to consult a lawyer.
