Michael Brian Kelly is a Partner in the firm's Pensacola office, practicing in the areas of employment and labor, commercial and tort litigation, education law, and condominium and homeowners’ association law. His practice focuses on defending discrimination and retaliation claims brought under Title VII and the Florida Civil Rights Act (FCRA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Florida public and private whistleblower claims, workers’ compensation retaliation claims, breach of contract claims, non-competition agreement claims, and various contract and tort matters. Mr. Kelly also frequently drafts and reviews contracts, assists in organizing business entities, and advises business entities on various operational and internal employment matters in an effort to avoid potential lawsuits or mitigate their value when they cannot be avoided.

Mr. Kelly earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in 2011. He joined the firm as an Associate after earning his J.D. from the Florida State University College of Law in 2014. In law school, he was a member of both the nationally-ranked Journal of Transnational Law & Policy and the Journal of Land Use & Environmental Law. Mr. Kelly also received book awards in Legal Writing/Advocacy, Civil Pretrial Practice, and International and Environmental Law Upper Level Writing.
