About Rafael Angel González

Rafael A. González is an experienced Florida civil litigator who has built his career around representing people harmed in traffic accidents. He received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Florida International University. He also studied Business Administration and Computer Science, giving him an added edge when cases involve technical evidence, records, or data. Mr. González started developing his investigative skills early, interning at the Miami-Dade County Public Defender’s Office as a lead investigator while still an undergraduate student. In law school, he clerked for the Honorable Shelley Kravitz in Miami-Dade County Court, where he gained a valuable behind-the-bench view of how cases move through court. His experience also included exposure to one of the country’s most significant product liability matters, the tobacco litigation that led to the Engle v. Liggett verdict. He later practiced as a civil attorney at firms in both Downtown Miami and Hialeah and, in 2010, became a partner at Freeman, Mallard, Sharp & González, concentrating on motor vehicle accident cases. Mr. González is a member of The Florida Bar and is admitted to Florida state courts and the federal court for the Southern District of Florida. He has also assisted with federal proceedings in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Beyond his legal work, he volunteers with the Boy Scouts and coaches youth baseball, soccer, and football.
