About Ana Milena Goncalves, Esq.

Ana Goncalves is a bilingual family law attorney based in Paramus, New Jersey, representing English- and Spanish-speaking clients throughout Bergen and Passaic Counties. Ana guides individuals and families through divorce, child custody and parenting time, support, and domestic violence matters in the Bergen and Passaic County Family Parts. Before dedicating her practice exclusively to family law, she spent 18 years handling personal injury cases, experience that sharpened her negotiation skills and taught her how to advocate firmly in court when a case can’t be resolved. She is also a trained mediator and is completing the requirements to become a court-appointed mediator in New Jersey, reflecting her commitment to helping families reach practical, respectful solutions whenever possible. Prior to law school, Ana worked as a caseworker in New York, which grounded her approach in compassion and an understanding of the stress families carry during legal conflicts. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from SUNY Stony Brook and her J.D. from Touro Law Center, and has been licensed in New Jersey since 2006 and New York since 2007. The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
