Julia E. Burt established the firm in 2005. The main office was located in La Quinta and worked to meet the needs of clients throughout the Coachella Valley. Heidi Richert Clerc joined the firm in 2009 and the firm moved to El Paseo in Palm Desert. The firm expanded and added Lisa Killingbeck Berkeley and Barbara G. Knox to the team.

Hired Attorney Julia E. Burt

A banker friend recommended Julia in 2012 when my parents needed help correcting errors in their estate plan caused by an estate planner at a “free lunch.” She was great about explaining everything and came to their house to finalize documents as my mother was housebound. Over the years she has been there to help us through property sales, trust restatements, legal agreements, tax issues, and finally to help me, as trustee, settle my parents’ estate in a timely manner. It was wonderful to know she was always there for answers, advice and support. I don’t live in California so I must try to find a Julia to do for my children what she did for us. Somehow I think hers will be an impossible act to follow! I highly recommend Julia Burt!

I have worked with Heidi for my own trust and highly recommend her. Additionally and probably more importantly, as a banker, I have worked with Heidi for numerous of my clients. So, I have seen her work across multiple clients, multiple issues, and multiple situations from the easily resolved to the most complicated litigation. In my career as a court reporter for 42 years, including 25 years of civil cases in Superior Court, I met hundreds of lawyers in all areas of the law with varying levels of legal skill. For my family’s estate planning, I hired Julia Burt, and her excellent team did a perfect job creating our family’s legal plan. It was hard to know whether Julia Burt, whom we hired to represent us, was on our side or the other! She seemed to side constantly with the other attorney in the case. In the end we felt cheated of decent representation yet she certainly made sure she got paid in full. Horrid experience and was so glad when our case ended and we did not have to deal with her again. Were not satisfied at all with her performance or representing us.
