I hired this attorney to hold the escrow funds on the sale of my home. I felt that she was perhaps the “RUDEST” and most “OBNOXIOUS” person I’ve met in several years. At the closing she withheld funds that were due me from the sale. She claimed that the money was for “property taxes” due. My home was exempt from property tax because I had filed a property tax exemption. When she refused to fork over our money, I went acrosd the street to the “Assessor’s Office and Property Tax Office” and obtained a signed form stating that my home was exempt. STILL ... she refused to release our money. Subsequent visits to the DALE County Property Tax office proved thst she DID NOT forward that money to the county. I consider this to be CRIMINAL FRAUD!!! Some County employees familiar with her actions strongly suggested that I file a case against her with the Alabama Bar Association ...which I am doing. With so many attorneys to choose from ... there is no way I’d ever use this woman again. ARROGANT?
Very rude and unprofessional. Tried to convince us we owed a mortgage on our home at closing. Told us we had a mortgage at a bank that we did not use. Pretty much called us a lieer serveral times in her office. We where holding the deeds in hand the hold time and she refused to look at them. Long story short, we proved her to be wrong . I think that I know where my home was mortgage was on our home. I would not recommend this wack to anyone. Very unprofessional.
