After a lot of research and word of mouth I chose Candy to be my lawyer. Everyone “heard” she was “the best”. Almost a year later and several thousands spent…I still had NO answers. Candy was not a pleasant person to talk to. She had ZERO sympathy or compassion!!! I finally decided to terminate Candy and seek legal help elsewhere. (Which only took about $350 in less than a month!) All Candy cares about is your money, his money, her money!!! Choose wisely, because I’m not the only on who was scammed by Candy!!!!!!
I waited several weeks for Candy to get to my case. I heard she was the best, so I didn’t mind to wait. Once I secured her with the retainer, it went seven long months of not even getting to a meeting at the courthouse. (I had a friend who started her divorce and done in less than two months.). She charged me for several hours reviewing documents that were not relevant to the case, and did not read my emails or call me back. She basically laughed at me saying she didn’t need to read my emails, then she asked me the same questions over and over revealing she never reviewed any of the documents she charged me for. She was pressing me on issues that were not even being pressed my my ex. to split. I wondered often who she was representing. I truly believe she cuts deals with the opposing lawyers spite her client. Do not go into being her client thinking she will have your back - even if you are the one paying her. She is not prepared, honest nor dependable. I had to fire her.
I've heard she's a good attorney that's why I hired her however she has done nothing for me except lie and keep my money. After I paid her fee's during the initial free consultation I never seen or spoke to her again ignoring me she never returned my calls. 5 months later I run her down where she had moved her practice. She lied twice telling me she mailed the check. Three weeks later "checks in the mail" but it never arrived. I am still stunned by her intentionally discourteous behavior.
She charged me bogus hrs. She would not listen to anything I said. She was rude and even called and chewed me out because she kept sending out court papers that I had not agreed with or seen and then charged me $50 for the call. Just doing stuff that I never agreed to and giving away my right to my stuff and the things I should have gotten in my divorce. I have proof of the over charges. I would have done better if I had been representing myself. She intimidates her clients . I fired her. final
