She is very nice, but I think that maybe it's better to not do mediation for a divorce. You never know how the other person will choose to act.
Final result was the divorce was final. Seems to continue and request information over and over. Also a year later, after divorce was final, a simple request for termination of alimony became a 1,100 nightmare, especially for something I could have done for free with a simple phone call. 2 months after it was filed, still requesting information. No other motions were pending or ever made. Left feeling it was all about the money.
She did not go Above and Beyond when I asked about help with my kids she said that what was normal was good. But I have since found out that the Judge that She Allowed to have our case in fact has many many many women crying FOUL. She should have MADE the papers say he HAD to pay child support and SEE the children but now after he comes back and does not have to pay back support that was written in the papers. NOT HAPPY, She should have made the judge see that he was not participating
I believed mediation would provide advocates for both parties to end our marriage amicably and collaboratively. Unfortunately, mediation does not provide advocation or help with the process, unless you specifically ask the right questions. Our divorce involved minimal complex assets, except for a more difficult pension plan. The Hill Law Firm made numerous errors in compiling, recording, and dividing our assets. They charged us for reading and responding to multiple correction emails, and I eventually had to provide spreadsheets and do the work myself, to avoid further charges. With the pension, the Hill Law Firm made decisions without consulting us, leading to significant errors. Towards the end, I felt like they were baiting and increasing communication to charge us more. Divorce is hard enough, but this “mediation” made it so much more difficult. Please do not be fooled by the initial visit where they seem kind. It is crucial to have competent people managing your divorce.
