About Andre T. Young, Esq.

Andre T. Young, commonly known as A.T., is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He hails from a family with a strong work ethic, being the son of the late Willie James Young, a retiree of General Motors and active UAW member, and Mrs. Bobbie Young-Brinson, who retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia and currently resides in Ellenwood, Georgia. Among his siblings, Andre holds the position of the fourth child.

During his high school years at Southwest DeKalb High School, Andre excelled as an honor student and was recognized as a National Achievement Finalist. His academic prowess earned him an academic scholarship to the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. However, following his father's passing, he returned to Atlanta to complete his studies. At Georgia State University, Andre graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, with a minor in Sociology, and later pursued a Master of Education Degree in Social Studies Instruction.

During his time at Georgia State University, Andre was actively involved in student leadership roles. He served on the Student Advisory Council to the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, held the position of Student Body President, and took on the role of Director of Campus Activities and Programs. Notably, he was selected as the Southeast Regional Student Leader of the Year by the National Association for Campus Activities in 1999. Furthermore, Andre gained valuable experience as an intern with Atlanta City Councilwoman Cathy Woolard.

Following his educational journey at Georgia State, Andre embarked on a career in education, working as a middle school Social Studies teacher in Atherton, California, within the Redwood City School District. Simultaneously, he contributed as an assistant coach for the freshman basketball team at Sequoia High School. His passion for advocacy led him to pursue a legal career, and he enrolled in the Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis, where he was awarded the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Opportunity (ICLEO) fellowship by the Supreme Court of Indiana.

While studying law, Andre continued to teach as a U.S. History teacher at Speedway High School in Indiana, actively participating in the Speedway Teachers Union and the National Education Association. His dedication to education earned him recognition as a "Top 10" Teacher of the Year in 2005 and 2006 at Speedway High School.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Andre gained legal experience through various clerkships, including working with the Honorable Davidson Momah, Administrative Law Judge of the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission, and interning with The Law Offices of Robert Wesley, the Public Defender of the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Orlando, Florida. He also clerked for the Law Offices of Shapiro and Kauffman, P.A. in Orlando. Upon graduating from law school and passing the Florida Bar exam in 2008, Andre established the law firm of Young, Simmons and Burt, LLC ("YSB"), where he served as a shareholder. He later ventured into solo practice at the Law Office of A.T. Young, LLC from 2010 to 2011. In 2011, he co-founded Young DeLoach Attorneys at Law, LLC, in collaboration with his best friend Earnest DeLoach, Jr. Subsequently, Earnest's practice was acquired by a statewide commercial law firm in August 2014, leading to the formation of The Young Law Firm of Florida, where Andre remains dedicated to advocating for hardworking individuals.

Notably, Andre's commitment to education extended beyond his teaching career, as he served as an Adjunct Professor from 2009 to 2013 at various institutions, including Everest University, International Academy of Design and Technology, and Keiser University, teaching subjects ranging from History and Politics to Sociology and Paralegal Studies. His commitment continues still as he has been an adjunct Professor at the FAMU School of Law in Orlando since 2019.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Andre is deeply involved in giving back to the community. He has sponsored and participated in various events and organizations, including the Orlando Mayor's Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission, Downtown Credo "Orlando Together" Bike Rally, Mennello Museum Indie Folk Fest, United Arts of Central Florida, Oakland HAPCO Arts & Music Fest, Nap Ford Teacher Appreciation, Orlando Outlaws Football Team, and Jones High School Athletics. Furthermore, The Young Law Firm is recognized as an Orange County Public Schools Partner in Education.

In addition to his community involvement, Andre is an active member of River of Life Christian Center in Orlando, where he serves as an usher. His guiding life verse is Colossians 3:23-24, emphasizing the importance of wholehearted dedication to one's work as service to the Lord.
