Alicia M. Chiu, Co-Chair of the Orlando Litigation Group, has a wide range of experience representing employers in all areas of the employment relationship. As an experienced employment litigator, she defends employers in single-plaintiff, multi-plaintiff, and class action matters involving discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, whistleblower claims, wage and hour disputes, and employee misclassification, as well as trade secret disputes and the enforcement of restrictive covenants. She represents employers in both federal and state courts, before administrative agencies and in arbitration proceedings.
Beyond the courtroom, Alicia provides her clients with legal advice and guidance that identifies and minimizes legal risk before disputes arise. She works with employers of all sizes and industries on topics including performance management, leaves of absence, terminations, and reductions in force, with a consistent focus on practical outcomes. Alicia has conducted internal investigations on behalf of her clients across a broad range of industries and regularly conducts compliance training for management on harassment, discrimination, and leave management under the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
