Bob Horger is an Orangeburg native who has been practicing with Horger, Barnwell & Reid, LLP for over 40 years. After graduating from Wofford College and the University of South Carolina Law School, both with honors, Bob joined his father’s firm who himself practiced law in Orangeburg for over 45 years.
During his career Bob has had experience in many different fields of practice including litigation, real estate, probate, corporate and commercial law and health care law. He has served as the County Attorney for the County of Orangeburg and at the present time serves as general counsel for The Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties. He has served in the capacity of outside general counsel for a number of businesses and has provided counsel to a number of individuals and business entities in the purchase and sale of businesses and of commercial real estate. He also frequently handles probate matters with both large and small estates. Currently his areas of focus are in health care, commercial real estate, probate law, commercial and corporate law.
Bob has also been active in his community having served on a number of charitable boards. He currently serves on the Governor’s School for Arts and Humanities having been appointed by Governor Nikki Haley. In addition, Bob has served as Chairman of South State Corporation since 1998, a regional bank with offices in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia.
