Andy was raised in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and attended school at Orangeburg Prep. He went to college at the University of South Carolina, and graduated with a degree in finance.
After working in the restaurant and bar business for several years, he decided to stop tending bar and start studying for the bar. He attended law school at the University of South Carolina, where he graduated in 2004.
Andy joined Williams & Williams in January of 2020. Before then, Andy worked for a large, well-respected defense firm in Columbia, where he practiced for 15 years. During his time there, Andy was a board member of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association.
Andy is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and a member of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court. He was named as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2013 and 2014, and included in Columbia Business Monthly list of Legal Elite of the Midlands in 2012, 2015 and 2016. Andy was recognized for The Best Lawyers in America as Personal Injury Litigation-Plaintiff’s in 2021.
Andy’s practice concentrates on civil litigation, including automobile and trucking accidents, premises liability, products liability, and professional malpractice.
Despite being a terrible golfer, Andy enjoys spending time on the golf course, and is a past chairman of the board for Hootie and the Blowfish’s Monday after the Masters charity golf tournament.
Andy and his wife, Courtney, live with their two children, John Andrew and Blair, in Columbia.
