Vicky was brought on as a GAL for my boys because my Ex refuses to co-parent. I had explained many situations and details to Vicky. I provided three professional contacts that were aware of situations that involved my boys. Vicky NEVER contacted two of them, and the third was a 5 minute conversation before her phone disconnected and Vicky never followed up. She did not perform her Due Diligence. Vicky personally witnessed my ex creating problems several times and acknowledged, "What mom did was wrong". When she testified to the court, Vicky's recommendation was, "Even though I disagree with Mom, I still feel the best interest of the child is with mom." Vicky is just another cog in the CT judicial system that sides with the Mother no matter what! Stay away from this Lawyer!
I would caution mothers — especially those leaving abusive relationships — about my experience with this GAL. She minimized very serious concerns, including my children telling her, myself and dcf dad hurts them, history of substance abuse, past involvement with DCF. Despite multiple professionals noting manipulative patterns and despite evidence that the father had little involvement in parenting until court, which she admitted to be true, she framed our situation as “both parents not being their best selves.” For an abuse victim, that felt dismissive and unsafe. On the surface she is very agreeable, acting as though she understands and is supportive. But this often led to me sharing more, only for those words to later be taken out of context or twisted to my disadvantage. I was not given opportunities to explain or defend myself — instead I was blindsided with a recommendation that had already been decided. Her report came nearly two months later than expected
Victoria should not be allowed around children. As normal for state of CT she favors the problem parent. My ex made multiple accusations and called the police. My kids spoke out about what really happens in dad’s house and how they were afraid to be there. I have her on recording admitting it. She ignored all evidence of my ex breaking court orders, lying, and behaving in actual criminal activity, and ignored everything, but blasted me to the judge how because I was 2 minutes late getting my son to school I shouldn’t have any rights. She is another soulless money hungry problem that sells children to keep lining her pockets. My ex even testified on the stand how she disparaged me to him constantly. She never spoke with the doctors who stated about the real issues and relationship issues between my kids and their father. She never did a real investigation but wants money for lies. GAL’s are not above the law and can be held responsible in federal court which is where I’m taking my case.
